Further Information

At the end of November we will be recording our third album and are very excited about the concept. We will be inviting respected musicians from diverse backgrounds to share with us this challenging experience of fusion and extemporization.
Sigurður Flosason the popular and versatile Icelandic saxophonist and Harald Skullerud the Norwegian percussionist we have worked with before, but a newcomer is the Samick-Finnish joik singer Ulla Pirttijärvi who we are very excited to meet up with. And another participant may be the weather and the sea, as our recording venue is to be a deserted old herring factory by the harbour of the small coastal village of Hjalteyri, a monumental relic of herring boomtown years. Our conductor, Eyþór Ingi Jónsson will also play the harmonium and other instruments. The recording engineer will be Håkan Ekman from Finland who also recorded our first two albums with spectacular results.
Our concept is one of evening and night music, Icelandic and Nordic folk music as well as other international pieces. The recording process will be spontaneous and progressive, improvisatory with a fusion of ideas from the differing cultures. And perhaps the sea and the winds may add ambience to our recordings.
We set out on this journey, this mystery tour, without any set goal in mind, and we look forward to our journey.

Here is a song from our first album, Vorlauf by Hildigunnur Rúnarsdóttir.

And one from our Christmas CD, Jól by Daniel Þorsteinsson, lyrics by Stefán frá Hvítadal.

And a recent recording from rehearsal, "Ég er að byggja" by Guðrún Böðvarsdóttir
