ABOUT THE COURSE
Become your truest self is a course in self-empowerment for teenangers that starts with yoga with Elena Arngrímsdóttir and ends with a concert with original songs by Maria Viktoria and Vala Yates.

On the course we talk about how we ignite the fire inside of us by examining our own values, strengths and passions in life. We will do exercises to go inwards and connect more deeply with ourselves and each other. We will talk about how we use mindfulness in daily life and how we can learn to love and accept ourselves, in order to support our own mental health and that of others. We will talk about how we can improve our wellbeing by creating an intention and vision of what we want in life.
The course ends with a concert where Vala and María Viktoría share their own music. The songs are inspired by the importance of staying true to yourself and being connected to your heart, and maintaining a healthy relationship with yourself and what is important to you.

WHO ARE WE?
We are three women - María Viktoría, Vala Yates and Elena Arngrímsdóttir - who want to create a space to share our gifts with others in an uplifting way. We all have been through our own challenges and difficulties in life, which have helped us find ways to support our own mental, emotional and physical health in a positive way. We want to keep helping others by sharing our techniques with yoga, music and self development. Sharing love, joy and courage. We want to help teenagers by sharing what we have to offer.

LONGTERM VISION
After our tour around Iceland this summer we want to keep developing the course further and extend it to more age groups. We will continue to grow personally through yoga, self development and music, so we can keep on sharing our gifts in an even more meaningful way.

WHY PLEDGE?
The money will be used to pay for our trip around Iceland for two weeks, gas, food and advertisements.

Our hope and belief is that we can be good role models for teenagers, and we feel that this project is truly important. We feel it is essential that each and every person in our society should have the opportunity to grow and develop on their own terms and to feel balanced in their own skin. In our view the best way to do this is through mindfulness and self-knowledge, knowing who we are and what we want. Each of of us has gone her own way and we have learned a lot on our journeys, and we want to pay it forward. Teenagers are the leaders of the future and of the society of tomorrow, and we see it as important to help them to become strong individuals who dare to go their own way.
