The volcanic eruption in Fagradalsfjall attracted thousands of tourists from March to September 2021. Daníel Páll Jónasson was one of the people who couldn’t get enough of the spectacle and hiked a total of 30 times to the eruption site, from the start of the eruption until it paused (or stopped) by mid September.
During his hikes Daníel captured over 10.000 photos covering the entire story of the eruption. The photos are diverse and show magnificent lava fountains, flowing and cascading lava rivers, strange lava formations and everything the eruption had to offer.
The book contains 100 of the most impressive and entertaining photos from Daníel’s hikes. The location of each photo is shown on a small map so readers can see how much the lava changed during the course of the eruption.
Here below are 2 examples from the book. It is 23 x 23 cm in size, 106 pages long, in Icelandic and English and with a foreword and an epilogue. A short description was written for each photo with a map showing where the photo was taken.
Here below you can see all the photos in the book but they can be ordered as a poster, on convas or on aluminium plate (see choices to the right).
To make the choice easier, the 15 most popular photos are listed first but then all the photos are shown below.
