KVIKA was founded mid-year 2013. The band includes a singer, 2 guitar players, bass player, drummer and keyboard player. Band members are:

- Gudni Thor Thorsteinsson (Singer and guitar)
- Örvar Ólafsson (guitar)
- Brynjar Óðinsson (guitar)
- Kolbeinn Tumi Haraldsson (Keyboard)
- Arnar Gunnsteinsson (bass)
- Ásmundur Jóhannsson (drums)

Soon after the band was founded we started to perform publicly. By fall 2013 we had a substantial catalog of original songs. Along with playing a lot of gigs, we continued to practice and produce more new songs. Then we started to look around for a record label. After some consideration it was decided that the Icelandic record label SENA would publish our first album. The album was named Seasons and was released September 18th, 2014.

Seasons was well received by critics, for example it got 8 out of 10 stars from the well-known and respected music critic Halldór Ingi Andrésson, who owns and runs the website plotudomar.com.[1\] So far a number of songs from the album have reached playlists and pop-charts of Icelandic radio and TV stations. All of the songs have been well received, so well actually that Kvika has been nominated as „rookie of the year“ for theListeners awards 2015 in Iceland, held by the multi-media corporation 365 miðlar.
