The idea

The concept of my feature movie „And though this World with Devils filled” is simple and well known, we will present a story of the 17th century witch burnings in Iceland. It’s the atmosphere, the mood, the psychological background and the everlasting questions that make this idea working. The breathtaking Icelandic landscapes and real human characters with honest thoughts are giving the movie an exciting yet oppressive ambiance. In order to realize this feature film, I plan to make a proof of concept short film that can represent the story and the mood, those hidden details that cannot be described in words.

The plan

I'm seeking for supporters to be able to make this short film. In pre-production phase we plan to spend money to prepare historically accurate costume creations, assessories and props, and for location scouting, also to secure the shooting locations.
The filming period requires more financial support, the camera, lighting and sound equipment rental; the transport and travel for cast, crew and equipment; the practical and special effects, makeup; set preparation and environmental details required for historically grounded visuals, etc.
In post-production the main costs are needed for picture and sound editing, for original music and soundtrack, and last but not least for marketing and distribution purposes.

The creator

I was born and raised in a small Hungarian village, and the interest for history had always played a central role in my life. After moving to Iceland in 2016 I slowly but surely started to make my childhood dream come true: becoming a filmmaker. Creating historically authentic, but presenting timeless stories is my main purpose in film making, profiting from my 20 years of experience in historical reenactment and enthusiasm for deep research.

The dream

My dedication towards becoming a filmmaker and a director is shown on my first short film, Hamrammr, released at the beginning of October 2026, shot in Iceland together with a small international team. The success of the short film gives me faith that people are craving for authentic historical and original atmosphere to be represented in cinema, and this is what I’m passionate about.

Between 29. September and 3. October 2026 I had the chance to participate at the Talent Lab program of the Reykjavík International Film Festival (RIFF) for the first time. During the workshops and masterclasses I got acquinted with many debuting filmmakers from all around the World and professional producers from the local industry, that also strengthened the belief that I'm on a good path.
