A Creative Community

Our dream is to create a creative space in the heart of Reykjavík where we combine everything we love! Good coffee and pastries, making art, a ceramic workshop and a store with a selection of our own products as well as design products and art from others. Paint on ceramics, ceramic courses and creative workshops for children, families, friends and groupa.

We want to offer a cozy space where you can paint on ceramics, work with clay, draw or simply sit down with a cup of coffee and create on your own terms. Whether you are trying it for the first time or have experience.

The goal of this funding is to gather forces and make this dream come true. With a successful funding we estimate the opening of the space in august.

What we offer

- Really good coffee and pastries

- Paint on ceramics (cups, plates, bowls, vases, etc.)
You can choose from a selection of fired ceramic pieces to paint on. Anything from cups, bowls, plates, vases and customized ceramics. Get inspired and create you own unique product.

- Ceramics subscription at múmó ceramic studio
You can apply for a spot at the ceramic studio. A subscription includes a space to throw and handbuild ceramics, kiln firings, all necessary tools that you need. You will also receive a discount on all our courses and at the múmó coffee shop.

- Membership offer for designers/artists with their own products
Artists and designers can apply for a membership at the múmó store to sell their own producst and designs. More information is on our website mumo.is.

- Ceramics courses and creative workshops
We will offer a variety of courses an creative workshops for all ages, families and groups.

- A store with unique ceramics and handmade products

Who we are

In order to open the space, we need to finance the setup of the space, furniture, appliances, equipment and the first steps in operation.

With your support, we can find and shape the right space in downtown Reykjavík and build a place that combines craftsmanship, experience and community.

Creating requires stillness and patience. We want to honor the process—the shaping of clay, painting on ceramics, and ink on paper. Every stroke, every curve, and every imperfection tells its own story.

Who we are

Karitas is an illustrator and designer with over 15 years of experience in visual storytelling, branding and handmade designs. Her work spans from illustration, ceramics and textiles. Under the brand Moumonde Karitas creates unique ceramics and textiles.

Daníel is an art director, graphic designer and artist. He has over 20 years experience in advertising and graphic design. Under his artist name Loðmfjörð he creates unique paintings inspired by the human condition and nature.
