VIÐ

VIÐ are the emotions,
that move within us,
like invisible forces,
that pull, push, break, and build.

Within every person lives an entire society:
whispering hope,
crushing fear,
anger and longing that refuse to fall silent.

A tension between light and shadow.
Between surrender and resurgence.
Between falling —and rising again.

VIÐ is a magnifying glass on society,
the wounds no one wants to see.

VIÐ is a mirror.
VIÐ is a heartbeat.
VIÐ is a voice that will not be silenced.
VIÐ is critique.

hOFFMAN - BIO

hOFFMAN is an indie rock band formed in Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland in 2003. Rooted in melodic songwriting, raw guitar textures, and a restrained but emotional intensity, the band established itself early within the Icelandic indie and alternative rock scene.

The band released its debut EP Bad Seeds in 2004, followed by the full-length album Your Secrets Are Safe With Us in 2009. Alongside these releases, hOFFMAN also put out several standalone singles that did not appear on either record. During its active years, the band performed at Iceland Airwaves and consistently received strong airplay and attention from local rock radio stations, helping to build a dedicated following.

After several active years, hOFFMAN went inactive between 2011 and 2024. In recent years, the members reconnected, leading to a renewed creative phase and the writing of new material.

Now reactivated, hOFFMAN is preparing the release of a new LP titled VIÐ (Us). Marking a significant shift for the band, the upcoming album will feature lyrics entirely in Icelandic for the first time. VIÐ represents both a return and a progression — rooted in shared history while reflecting the present moment, with themes of identity, connection, and collective experience.

Line-up
• Vocals: Ólafur Kristján Guðmundsson
• Guitar: Gunnar Geir Waage
• Guitar: Víkingur Masson
• Bass: Sæþór Ágústsson
• Drums: Karl Ágúst Guðmundsson

With "VIÐ", hOFFMAN moves forward with renewed focus — a band shaped by time, place, and a long-standing creative bond.
