Further Information

In addition to the calendar, each sale on Karolina Fund will also include a postcard (Lambakort) with a photograph of newborn lambs. These postcard are also a part of this project. This is to our knowledge the first project working solely with photographs of newborn Icelandic lambs.

It takes dedication and time to catch good portraits of lambs as other newborns. The lambs are independent and constantly moving. They closely watch their surroundings and are not keen on staying still and posing while you set up your camera. The photographs are shot during the birthing season, a busy time for sheep farmers. It can therefore be difficult to find free time to catch photographs of the lambs.

Then it is good to remember the basic principle of communication:
"The lambs are intelligent beings and should be treated as such."
