SAMSUÐA - saga átta listamanna

// English version below //

Pörin voru;
Guðrún Bergsdóttir og Eggert Pétursson
Erling T.V.

International Film and Human Rights festival Valencia: http://festivalinternacionalcineyderechoshumanos.com/english/?p=22).

Kostnaður við eftirvinnslu, þýðingu, kynningu og seinna að koma henni á framfæri erlendis mun kosta sitt svo ekki sé talað um það sem nú þegar er búið að leggja út úr eigin vasa.

Allt framlag, stórt sem smátt, er því afar vel þegið. Saman getum við gert heiminn betri.

CONCOCTION - the story of eight artists

The documentary CONCOCTION is the story of eight artists who collaborated in pairs – one in each pair an artist with a disability, and one without – each pair creating a single piece for “Concoction”, an auction exhibition held at the Reykjavik Art Museum, Kjarvalsstaðir, organized by the arts festival Art Without Borders in the spring of 2014.

The pairs were:
Guðrún Bergsdóttir and Eggert Pétursson
Erling T.V. Klingenberg and Karl Guðmundsson
Sigrún Huld Hrafnsdóttir and Sara Riel
Hugleikur Dagsson and Ísak Óli Sævarsson

The film is directed by Iris Stefanía Skúladóttir, who is the Executive Director of the Reykjavík arts festival Art Without Borders. The project itself, the teamwork and the auction, were important from the start: Iris was confident that such a cooperative enterprise would have the positive impact that it has had. However, the auction reached only a limited group of people, and so we have decided to make a film to spread the message more widely. The film is subtitled in English and is highly accessible.

The aim of the film is to bridge the gap between communities and support a fair, equal and just society.

In the film we witness artists discuss what they learned from each other and how rewarding the relationship can be between an artist with a traditional art education and another who is categorised as a so-called “Outsider artist”.

The aim is to show the film at the Paradise Cinema in Reykjavík in October, and [later the same month\] at the International and Human Rights Film Festival Valencia: (http://festivalinternacionalcineyderechoshumanos.com/english/?p=22).

The cost of post-production, translation, publicity and introducing the film abroad will require funds, not to mention past and on-going out-of-pocket expenses.

All contributions, big and small, are very much appreciated. Together we can make the world a better place.
