This year has been all about yoga. After many years of practice and intrest in yoga I finally made the move and became a yoga instructor. I stayed in Barcelona for three months practicing, living and learning yoga. After my graduation I traveled around Asia for a while to learn more about yoga: the history, the reasons and the idea. When monsoon hit Vietnam there was not much else to do than paint and do yoga and there, my watercolor yogis were born.
When I came back to Iceland in late summer with all my paintings I wanted to give them further life. I painted more poses, made sequences and finally, my yoga cards are ready!
Soon, the cards will be printed - now I just need an assistance to finance my idea and I am forever grateful for those who support Who am I?
I am born and raised in Ísafjörður. At age 16 I moved to Greenland and have since then been back and forth and seen Iceland and Greenland as my two home countries. I studied art in the art school in Nuuk, Greenland and graduated in 2015 since then, i’ve shown my work at a few exhibition in Iceland and Greenland.
Since 2012 I’ve traveled as much and as far as I can to get inspired. I love painting the movement and shapes of the female body; i guess thats where I get my yoga interest from. Sometimes I paint birds with strong personalities and experiences.
Now I work as a yoga instructor. Between yoga, I get creative at my creative space in Íshúsið in Hafnarfjörður.
I painted all the poses myself. Some were painted in Asia, others in Íshús
Pixel prints my cards. Ensó makes the packaging. The design is all by me.
I am passioned about having all my creative work as sustainable as possible. The packaging is made of recycled paper and the cards are printed on 150gr paper that should last forever.
The first edition of YOGER is in Icelandic but i do intend to publish the cards in English (and more languages) in 2020
