Further Information

The title of the album, Rætur meaning Roots, refers to the deep connection humans have with mother nature and the society they are brought up in. Work on the album started in 2012 when Fanney put together the band Kjass with Anna Gréta Sigurðardóttir, Mikael Máni Ásmundsson, Birgir Steinn Theodorsson and Óskar Kjartansson. Since then Kjass has evolved from the band to become the stage name for Fanney. With the first songs being recorded in 2012 it was only until 2017 that the last songs were recorded, this time with Anna Gréta and Tómas R. Einarsson.
