Who is Egill Palsson?

Icelandic born tenor Egill Palsson quickly gained attention as an emerging artist when he received special recognition from Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. He has won prizes in big competitions such as Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg and Oper Schloss Laubach which have then opened up doors to venues such as Classic Open Air in Berlin with soprano Lucia Aliberti, Gala Concert at the Mercedes World in Berlin and Das Lied von der Erde in Frankfurt and Berlin. Mr.Palsson has been working professionally in Germany since 2008. Among roles performed are: Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Caramello and Herzog(Eine Nacht in Venedig), Rodolfo (La boheme), Luzio (Das Liebesverbot), Bobby(Besuch der Alten Dame), Duka di Mantua(Rigoletto), Governor/Vanderdendur/Prince Ragotski(Candide), Alfred(Die Fledermaus), Adam(Der Vogelhändler) and many more.Mr.Palsson recived his training in Iceland, New York and Berlin studying only with the best teachers such as: David L. Jones,Janet Williams, Prof.Edwin Scholz and Prof. Wolfgang Millgramm.

He has additionally had private lessons with opera singers: Johan Botha, Reiner Goldberg, Elisabeth Mayer-Topsöe and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. Mr.Palsson has also worked with conductors such as: Martin Fischer-Dieskau, Kevin McCutcheon, Howard Griffiths and Frank Strobel to name a few.

Mr.Palsson, already having a diploma in diagnostic teaching from the David Jones Voice Studio in New York, is currently finishing his teachers degree with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
