Anna Atladóttir

Anna Rún Atladóttir studied the violin and the piano from a very young age.

In 1992 she graduated as a violin teacher and three years later as a piano teacher from The Reykjavík College of Music. From 1994 to 2000 she studied at the Trinity College of Music and The London College of Music, where she graduated with a solo diploma in piano playing and a MMus degree in Piano Accompaniment. Her main teachers in London were Carola Grindea and Geoffrey Pratley.

Anna Rún has given many concerts as a pianist, violinist and accompanist both with singers and instrumentalists in Iceland, England, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Germany. She worked as a piano and violin teacher and accompanist in Oxford, Cambridge and London from 1997 until the year 2000 when she returned home to Iceland.

Anna Rún was president of EPTA (European Piano Teachers Association) in Iceland 2010-2016 and President of EPTA Europe in 2016.

She worked as an accompanist at the Reykjavík Academy of Singing and as a violin and piano teacher at the Reykjavík Children’s Music School where she now is the Principal.
