Hugo Federico Baille Benitez

After 10 years learning and working in different workshops, I wanted to give a try to run my own workshop. A message was circulating in Europe saying that a violin maker and repairer was urgently needed in Iceland, so it seemed the perfect opportunity to put that idea in practice.

My apprentissage started with my father, Robert Louis Baille, in Sevilla. I stayed 7 years at his workshop, performing most of the operations of maintaining and repairing instruments. I also achieved one viola and one cello there, both already in the hands of musicians.

I have also been 3 years at Claire Ryder & Pascal Ruegger's atelier in Paris, where I carried on learning and exerting this profession. I realized one viola there, that has also been sold.
