Elvar Örn has dedicated the last seventeen years to the arts, evolving towards abstract visual art during this period. His proficiency in photogravure/heliogravure techniques in copperplate printing in Norway paved his way into the NBK – the Norwegian Association of Visual Artists, and the Norwegian Printmaker Association. He is also a member of Icelandic Printmakers and KIMIK, the Association of Greenlandic Artists.

Elvar Örn resides and works in Nuuk, Greenland. In addition to his projects in the Nordic countries, he has held exhibitions in China were he has engaged in sculpting in porcelain and bronze. Since 2015, Elvar Örn has focused on diverse projects and exhibitions in Nuuk, many of which relate to the life and experiences of Greenlandic hunters. In 2017, he traveled across Greenland for five months for his photography project "Piniartoq," supported by Greenlandic arts funds. This project toured throughout Greenland from 2018 to 2022.
