Orri studied photography at School of Visual Arts in New York in the 90s and did his graduate studies in Documentary Media at Ryerson University between 2014-2016. His photobook Interiors was published by Steidl in 2011 and his second photobook is forthcoming in 2021. He is also one half of the music group Slowblow who has composed music to numerous feature films, including Noi Albinoi and The Good Heart, and released several albums. He has worked as a recording engineer for various artists like múm, Skúli Sverrisson and Ragnar Kjartansson. In 2011 he co-wrote and directed the award winning documentary film Grandma Lo-fi: The Basement Tapes of Sigríður Níelsdóttir.
