Further Information

Who is Sweet Aurora...

"Sweet Aurora" is my first project as a French pastry shop in Iceland.
I am Aurora, French pastry chef living happily in Iceland for over 2,5 years now.
I have studied culinary arts in the world- renowned Institut Paul Bocuse in the South of France, and have worked in the industry in the beautiful city of Paris for over 14 years, in the finest establishments such as Hotel George V, KL Patisserie... I have had the chance to participate at two fine pastry shop openings in Paris, which gave me the drive and confidence to do my own.
My passion lies in pastry and I would love to share it with the Icelandic people, and introduce them to the French culinary culture and give them a taste of what I do best!

It started as a dream...

My life project has always been to create my own pastry shop, after years of dreaming of a Parisian style fine pastry boutique in Iceland, I finally jumped on that train!

And I have never been so close to achieve it than today.
But I still need some help to reach my goals, and here I call for your support in exchange of rewards such as pastry creations goods and classes.

If you would like to take part in this project and share my excitement for it, I invite you to check the reward list, to see what you can trade for your donation, you won't be disappointed!

What will you find at the shop?

My French macarons collection

My selection of macarons change with the seasons and always have a little twist. I like to play with visuals and spices.

You can check my collection by clicking here.

Tarts, gâteauxentremets

For individual or bigger parties, there is always a cake that suits your preferences.
This is a selection of the cakes I will make at the shop, depending on the season, the holiday, or simply my mood :)

From strawberry vanilla tart, coffee chocolate cardamom tart, mango passionfruit cheesecake, pistachio chocolate layer cake, raspberry chocolate sichuan layer cake, and the latest best seller the lemon bergamote meringue tart.

Every holiday or event is always a great opportunity for me to create special edition cakes like my St Honoré for Valentine's day or my Galette for King's day.

Feel free to visit my Facebook page for more information about my cakes by clicking here.

Travel cakes

Travel cakes are pastries that are designed to remain moist without drying for a few days; it is ideal for gourmet travelers!
I love to play with different classics like cookies, almond financier, lemon glazed cake, madeleine, cannelés from Bordeaux, etc.

I will also offer a collection of homemade jams, chocolate spreads, candied nuts and chocolates.

Pastryclasses

Passing along my pastry knowledge and showing techniques of French classics, is a great reward to me.
My first classes here in Reykjavik focused on the best seller lemon meringue tart, which is always a crowd pleaser.
People learn, practice and bring their homemade pastries and recipes home with them!

Feel free to learn more about my classes on my Facebook page by clicking here.
