The songs that got lost – The SKT Dance Music Competition 1953

Eggert Th. Kjartansson wrote four songs for The SKT Dance Music Competition in 1953. The sheet music got lost but almost 70 years later Eggert crooned those tunes for his daughter Lilja. She has arranged the music and her brother Snorri Pétur has written lyrics to three of them. The lyrics to "Tonight" were written by Eggert himself, to his wife, Hólmfríður Gísladóttir.

This year, Eggert will turn 90.

It is his wish that his songs will finally be played on the radio.

The music will be recorded and then performed in concert in Fríkirkjan.
