My name is Jónína Aradóttir and I am a singer/songwriter from Iceland. I put the final touch on my second album, Remember, 2017 that included songs both in English and Icelandic that I will now make on a vinyl. The Remember vinyl will include 9 of those songs, but unfortunately, I had to take one song away cause it was too long. But I will have all the 10 songs included in digital form with the vinyl, including the song You and me that I had to take of.

I published my album Remember on CD 2017 where I had a team of fantastic Icelandic musicians with me. Árni Þór Guðjónsson guitar, Róbert Dan Bergmundsson bass, Helgi Georgsson keys, Sigfús Óttarsson drums, Hrafnhildur Ýr Víglundsdóttir background vocals, Guðrún Árný Karlsdóttir background vocals. Vignir Snær Vigfússon song recording and editing and Addi 800 mastering. I worked on the album for about 3 years or since I published my first Album (EP) in 2013. The EP was launched after I graduated from the Independent Artist Program in Los Angeles.

The songs on the Remember vinyl tell you stories of my life in the language of Pop, Rock, Country, and Blues. The lyrical content ranges from sweet to sullen to sarcastic with influences from Sarah Bareilles, Bonnie Raitt, and Tina Dico.

I am born and raised in the rural countryside of southeast Iceland, Hof in Öræfasveit. A lot of inspiration I am getting and tuning in from my childhood place and the nature and the energy there is magical where I don´t find anywhere else in the world. The Nordic countries are really close to me and I have been loving traveling and sharing my music for the past years. Now the nature and the power of Norway have swept me off my feet and am I living there now as well as working on my music.

I studied in Denmark for one year (2006) in Den Rytmiske Hojskole where I studied guitar, live studio and concert recording, mixing. In 2010 moved to LA where I studied Vocal and art development at the Musicians Institute and the Independent Artist program 3 years later.

After graduation in L.A. I did a 3-week tour around California where I performed in diverse and different places, bars, wine yards, music halls, and living room concerts. A year later, 2014, toured the west part of the US for 7 weeks with another singer/songwriter, Sara Broman. Here in Iceland, I have played when I get the change in privet parties or festivals around the country.

With this crowdfunding, It is giving me chance to put my album Remember on vinyl. It is giving me chance to cell the vinyl in advance to you and therefore I can get the funding to put it on Vinyl. Your support means a lot to me!
