The graduation piece from the photographer Hjordis Eythorsdottir is hoping to become a published book.
Hjordis will graduate from the School of Photography, Iceland in January. The school teaches photography and how to use the medium in an artistic way.
The work ,,Put all our Treasures Together” is about a period in a life. A rootless, wandering, travelling life. The viewer is taken on a trip through photographs that serve as little treasures on the walk through life. With the qoute from writer Annie Dillard being a perfect summary ,,How we spend our days is, ofcourse, how we spend our lives.”
I am not telling you my story, I am only showing you a story and you make of it what you want.
With my graphic designer we are finishing up the book's overall design and here are some examples.

,,The 2019 edition of Blurring the Lines was curated by Steve Bisson & Lisanne van Happen.
The aim of this call was to select, exhibit and publish projects that are a representation of the rapidly changing field of photography. And, at the same time show us why photography is an important medium in creating new perspectives on the world we live in and difficult issues we have to deal with. The curators were very impressed by the high quality of the projects this year and made a selection of projects that deserve a broader audience."
As I graduate from Fine Art Photography from the School of Photography in Iceland I want to publish my first ever book.
I have been photographing a period in my life where there was never any certainty of what was coming. I never thought anything of these photographs - they were the byproduct of my mundane life as I went through a lot of strange times.
I started photographing my unspectacular daily life without any predetermined idea or goal for the material. I ended up with thousands of treasures in my pocket. This work came about only when time had passed, as it does, and the material was completely parallel to my life; always growing but completely without a destination.
Then I was able to see, by looking at them with a strangers eye, that there might be a story to tell. The story came to me through the images and not the other way around. I never set out to photograph this project. It is my dream to publish this debut of my work. I have been so lucky to have an amazing graphic designer on my team and we are at the final stages of making the book ready to go to print.
