I always loved mushrooms and one and a half years ago an article in Bændablaðið, of all things, got me started into research, trial runs and finally into establishing Sveppasmiðja. After half a year of happy doityourselfing, I grow now all kind of delicious mushrooms in an altered shipping container.
But now, after fine-tuning all my equipment and beginning to establish a base of regular customers, it's time to take the next step and have Sveppasmiðja running full tilt. That means a second autoclave, a table for packing fresh mushrooms or grow kits, some extra shelf space. And a ton of raw materials to give me a boost!

An outdoor mushroom garden with everything growing on Icelandic wood and straw in addition to indoor production.
A place for people to meet, research, discuss and learn about edible and medicinal mushrooms and their cultivation.
An illustrated book for mushroom and art lovers alike with stories, recipes and whatever else might cross my mind.
