Starting my own knitting company has taught me to be self reliant. Whatever I can fix myself I fix, and I usually find the most economic way to make things happen. I need professional help to make this book look the way I see it.
Therefore I am asking for your support.
In return you will receive a copy of the book. You can knit any pattern from the book, as often as you like.
You can knit for yourself or as a gift. If you do not already know how to knit you can always learn from You tube!
I expect the book to be ready in Oct/Nov time frame.

My inspiration for this book

I was born and raised in a small town called”Icefjord” (Ísafjörður) in the far north-west of Iceland, where it is pitch dark in the winter and the sun never sets in the summer. It is a rugged place with harsh weather and unforgiving nature – but it is also a place of unparalleled beauty. The sea with its ever-changing moods, the mountain hills that go from ice and steep cliffs to a flurry of fragile flowers and berries have fascinated me since I was a little girl. The colours of the landscape turn constantly depending on the weather and the light. I have tried to capture this grandeur through the designs and pictures in this book. It is not purely a knitting book: it is an expression of my love for the uncompromising yet fragile magnificence of my birthplace.

Patterns from book

Kjói - Stercorarius parasiticus

I was trying to imitate the colours of the seaweed with this pattern. I give it a softer look by having a lace pattern with leaves.

Fýll - Fulmarus glacialis

A sunny winter day is the story behind this shawl, the colours of blue and white.

Kornhæna - Coturnix coturnix

The layers of nature, when you look through you can see the see, the river, the moss, the grass, the birch trees, the sky, the sand, the beach. The colours of grey, blue, yellow and green.
