What are we doing?

We are opening Iceland's first cat café! Our aim is to provide a cosy environment where cats can meet their forever friends (who will give them a home) and humans can relax with a lovely cup of coffee.

Vegan and vegetarian food, cats, cosy furniture, what's not to love? We are doing this from scratch, using our own money and time to make our dream come true, and we're hoping you can help us so that you too can take part in our dream!

Why are we opening a cat café?
Our cats will all be up for adoption, receiving the best care and loving possible. Too many cats are looking for a home, we want them to feel safe and loved before another human decides to share their home.
Our aim is for you to feel great, our selection of vegetarian and vegan foods will be yummy and the atmosphere cosy. A lot of people aren't able to have cats either due to housing, allergies or travel, we want them to have a place to get to know these wonderful felines.
Cats and purring are known to be very therapeutic, in our stressful era it is important to have place where our minds can rest. A furry friend and a warm cup of coffee can be the perfect way to reset and reframe our thinking.

Who are we?
We are two friends and major cat lovers with a very specific wish, we want to hang out with cats, drink coffee, eat cakes and help cats in need.
Ragnheiður has worked in marketing, she is a keen traveler and animal lover. Gígja studies performance and theatre making and loves plants and cats.

What's next?
You tell us! We want the cat café to be a safe haven for humans and cats alike. We hope to offer a unique atmosphere and to have some fun! We want to host special events and make the café a wonderful little oasis of purrs and cosy time.
