Árni Reynisson sings with friends at Ljósatröð, the home of Freemasons in Hafnarfjörður and in the sauna at Ásgarður swimming pool in Garðabær.

Árni started quite young composing lyrics to popular songs and entertainment material for various circles of friends. Over the last decade he has focused his attention on the „swing period“ of the early 20th century all the way to the age of rock and roll in the early 1950-ies.

These 16 song and dance numbers constitute a selection of the very best tunes from this period in time,and some represent the career climax of singers such as Frank Sinatra, Marlene Dietrich, Vera Lynn, Dean Martin, not to forget Paul Simon who wrote the most recent number on the menu.

Directed and accompanied by Jónas Þórir, mastercraft singers Diddú and Egill Ólafsson perform solo or in duet.

Árni´s lyrics are aimed at transferring the setting and romance of the originals into Icelandic nature and culture and the romantic athmospere of our own here in Iceland. Most of the numbers have sprung out of informal singing sessions and discussions in the aforementioned sauna and for performances in the society of friends.

The CD is issued in a limited capacity, but the programme can also been purchased digitally here on Karolina Fund.

The programme starts on Sepember 5th, the CD to be issued on December 7th and the presentation concert on the next day at Gamla Bíó cinema.

With this presentation Árni Reynisson celebrates his 75th birthday and all the good friends he has met and joined in the appreciation of good music over the days and times.
