Further Information

I went my own way. I took the detour. I wanted to sing pop but ended up studying classical singing. One day I looked up and realized I had lost my way.

I studied at the Iceland University of the Arts. Studied composition. I wanted to become a songwriter but learned to write symphonies.
I lost my dad. I met a man. Became pregnant. Became a mum. Started singing with chamber choirs in funerals. One day looked up and realized I had lost my way.

In the search inside me a little dream lay sleeping. I stopped trying to stear my life in the right direction. I let go. And my dream came floating to the surface; "Hey, why don't you write songs and release an album?" it whispered.

There it was. The dream I had been pushing away for more than a decade was staring me in the eye. There was no turning back. I stopped running away from my dream. I had no choice. This dream was to come true. I didn't choose it. It chose me.

I find it quite challenging to define the style of my music, because my songs are still quite "open". I write melodies and chords and allow the musicians who accompany me to put their own colour into the music. So while I was playing with the Greek guitarist Dimitrios Theodoropoulos, my music was endowed with South-American influences, while working with the producer Stefán Örn Gunnlaugsson the songs become pop songs with electro-incluences. Though I still have my own personal style.

I have a classical background, but I have also been so lucky to have had the chance to work with amazing pop artists like Barði Jóhannsson, Keren Ann Zeidel and Ólafur Arnalds, and have drawn a lot of inspiration from those experiences.

My music is somewhere between classical and pop music. Sincere, true and beautiful when it comes to chord progression, lyrics and voice. Calming yet empowering. I speak from my soul which speaks to your soul.

I have now gained the courage to make my dream come true. But I can not do it alone. So I ask for your help. Will you help me reach my goal - and make my dream come true?
