Ísleifur heppni (Isleif the lucky) is trying to raise money for a new and unique ice cream shop which will open in Hlemmur - Mathöll in January 2017. All who supports the project will get ice cream ones we have opened. It is a magical experience since we create the ice cream with liquid nitrogen right in front of the customer and a mystic smoke spread around and up in the air.

Why are we raising money for an ice cream shop?
We could take a loan in the bank, sure, but we would like to do things differently, plus we don´t like banks that much. We would like to offer you to buy some ice cream from us and supports this new way of ice cream making. We like crowdfunding and we need to buy a lot of stuff to make one of the best ice cream of this world :) We also like to help others and hope you like it too.

Our ice cream
We make the ice cream paste every day at our kitchen at Hlemmur. We then freeze the paste in front of you with liquid nitrogen and then you get the freshiest and most tasteful ice cream you will ever get. We will have a vegan ice cream available every day. We make the ice cream out of the best possible ingredients that are available in Iceland every time.
We work closely with the award winning chocholate factory Omnom. The chocholate ice cream and all other ice creams ingredients comes from natural sources so you get the real taste, not some fake color or additive ingredients.

About us
We are determined to make the best ice cream ever made on this planet. We go to bed thinking of how we can make it happen and we wake up with new recipies and new ideas to make the most unique ice cream shop in Iceland (and hopefully in the world). We belive that with a lot of love and passion then that can happen. We belive that with focusing on few recipies out of beautiful ingredients then we are creating a magical experience for the customer. We are most happy when we can create this unexpected smile on the face of our customer after tasting our ice cream in many of our food markets days. Now those days are over and we want to take the big step and make the real thing now with our ice cream shop.

How we do it
Our ice cream is made fresh every day. We freeze him with liquid nitrogen (-196°C) which makes almost no ice crystals. He becomes very soft and melts like a food of the Gods in your mouth. Because we use natural ingredients our ice cream have natural colours. They fit with every occasion, be it an afternoon trip to the town center or a birthday party in the garden during summer. They fit just simple alone or with some belgian waffles or in between maccarons.

Love and passion
We put a lot of effort in making our ice cream. It´s not just pouring the ice cream paste into a big ice cream machine. We nurture every ingredients almost as our secret little gem and we belive that by doing that we create something special. We like it and we hope you do to.

Sustainability
We love our nature and we will try to be as sustainable as possible, both in the way we buy things and also the way we act globally. We like to think globally and act locally. All our ice cream boxes are fully compostable within 2 - 3 weeks in the ground. Even our ice cream is sustainable, you buy him and eat him and oops he´s gone. If we ever need to buy a car to cargo our products around town, we would definitely buy a 100% electrical car.

Einar Ólafsson
Einar is an architect and a food lover. He has been making ice cream for many years. He is very passionated ice cream maker and always when he travels abroad with his family he is on the hunt for two things, architecture and ice cream shops.
After a trip to Australia where he saw how they make ice cream with liquid nitrogen he was hooked and was determined to make similar things in Iceland.

Gunnar Logi Einarsson
Gunnar Logi is a chef and has been working on numerous restaurants in Iceland such as VOX, Hótel Búðir, Kol on Skólavörðustígur, Tjörnin og Mathús Garðabæjar. Gunnar Logi has pride in creating new ice creams and is very passionated in the kitchen of Ísleifur heppni.
