Further Information

"This long-awaited longplayer shows storyteller Biggi 10 times on its best." - Wim Van Hooste, Rokmusik.co

Bigital is a collective band project centered around Birgir Örn's Steinarsson (Biggi of icelandic rock band Maus) songwriting and music production efforts. This is also Biggi's first album release since 2006.

As a storyteller Biggi's uses his music as a way to tell short stories. Sung by various performers, in icelandic and english, each song tells a very different story both in words and musical approach. This means that the album cannot be pigeon-holed into a single musical genre as the music switches from rock, electro, hiphop, americana, reggae and even argentinian tango - sometimes within the space of the same song. No rules apply while making the music - allowing each song to go in the direction it needs.

The words are about love, life and communication. Stories about having the courage to fly off to uncertain adventures, about future separation, about the self-poisonous affect's of keeping hurtful secrets, god and deep friendship.
10 short stories is a small sample into the human condition, so to speak.

The album was recorded over a period of 8 years in Reykjavík, London and Copenhagen. It features a number of talented musicians playing flutes, oboes, accordions, violin's, vibraphones, percussions, drums, bass and guitar's.
Biggi sings most of the tunes the album but it also features vocals performances from talented Icelandic new-comers Kolbrún Magnea and Rósa Björg. Rapper Heimir Björnsson of legendary hip-hop band Skytturnar features in one song.

The album was featured as 'album of the week' in Iceland's national radio in the first week of september.
