Tónlist hefur spilað stórt hlutverk í lífi mínu frá því að ég var átta ára gömul.  Eftir að hafa ljáð ýmsum tónlistarmönnum og hljómsveitum krafta mína í gegnum árin, fann ég ríka þörf fyrir að stíga fram, út úr hellinum og inn í heildina og byrja að spila og syngja eigin tónlist.  Þetta var stór ákvörðun fyrir mig og ég stóð frammi fyrir stórri hindrun… ég hataði nefnilega röddina mína.  Síðustu tvö ár hef ég æft mig daglega, farið í söngtíma og lært að kynnast og elska þá rödd sem mér var gefin.  Tónlistin sem ég bý til flokkast undir ljóðræna alþýðutónlist, þar sem ég legg áherslu á að segja sögur með fallegum boðskap.  Tónlistin er einlæg og ég vona innilega að tónlistin mín bæði gleðji og gefi von. 

Þetta ferðalag er í mínum huga eitt stórt ævintýri og nú er komið að því að leyfa ykkur að taka þátt í ævintýrinu mínu og fylgjast með draumum mínum rætast.  Og þá er komið að ykkur, kæru vinir, en mig vantar hjálp til að safna peningum til að taka upp plötuna mína og dreifa tónlistinni til þeirra sem vilja hlusta!  Með því að styrkja mig eruð þið í raun að kaupa plötuna í forsölu, ásamt fleiri skemmtilegum hlutum sem þið getið eignast, eins og miða á útgáfutónleikana, tökulag að eigin vali og jafnvel sérsamið lag um ykkur.  Það er mikilvægt að ég nái að safna fjárhæðinni á 30 dögum, þannig ég get eiginlega ekki gert þetta án ykkar hjálpar.   Ég get ekki beðið eftir því að komast í stúdíó og taka upp lögin mín með hljómsveitinni minni og ég get ekki beðið eftir því að deila afrakstrinum með ykkur, elsku vinir!  

Tónlistin og ég erum eitt og ef ég er viss um eitthvað sem ég á að vera að gera í lífinu, þá er það tónlist og ég hlakka til að deila henni með ykkur öllum.  Ég hef mikla trú á að fólk eigi alltaf að elta draumana sína og ef þið viljið hjálpa mér að elta minn draum þá verð ég ykkur endalaust þakklát.

Um tónlistarkonuna:

Bláskjár er hliðarsjálf og sólóverkefni tónlistarkonunnar Dísu Hreiðarsdóttur. Sólóverkefnið samanstendur af hljóðritun og útgáfu á breiðskífu með lögum  eftir Dísu, ásamt útskriftar og söfnunartónleikum, sem haldnir verða í Fríkirkjunni í Reykjavík, þann 16. maí 2014. Tónlistin flokkast undir ljóðræna alþýðutónlist, þar sem áhersla er lögð á að segja sögur með ríkum og einlægum boðskap. 

Dísa hefur ljáð ýmsum tónlistarmönnun og hljómsveitum krafta sína í gegnum árin, bæði sem trommu og píanóleikari og má þar nefna hljómsveitir og listamenn eins og Rokkslæðuna, Brúðarbandið, Elízu Newman, Elektru og Grúsku Babúsku.  Dísa lauk námi í tónsmíðum frá Listaháskóla Ísland árið 2011, þar sem hún sérhæfði sig í sviðslistatónlist og hefur gert tónlist fyrir leikhús, dansverk og stuttmyndir á síðustu árum.  Árið 2012 hóf byrjaði hún í mastersnámi í tónlist í Listaháskóla Íslands og útskrifast þaðan í júní 2014 en sólóverkefnið Bláskjár er jafnframt útskriftarverk hennar við skólann.

Music has been a big part of my life since I was 8 years old. It has not only been a big part of my life but an aspect in everything surrounding me. I have played with tons of talented artist through the years but in 2012 I felt the need to step up and start singing and playing my own music.  This was a big decision for me and there was one big problem…I really did not like my voice.  So for the past two years I have practiced every day, taken singing lessons and learned to know and love the voice I was given.  My music is best described as lyrical folk music, where story telling plays a big role.  I do my best to be honest and sincere and I really hope that my music can make people feel a little bit better and bring them joy.  This journey has been one big adventure and now it´s time to share it with you all.

This is where you come in.  I need your help to raise funds that will allow me to continue recording my music and make it available to anyone and everyone who cares to listen! You should know that by donating, you're basically prepaying for all of the awesome stuff that goes along with the album. This means you have the opportunity to get physical and digital copies, concert tickets, cover songs or even a custom made song, all depending on how much money you donate! It's important that I raise this money within 30 days, otherwise I don't receive any of the funding, and that's going to be a serious problem for my wallet. I literally can not do this without you!! So even if you don't have the ability to donate (which I completely understand), even sharing this project with people who might want to contribute helps me immensely. And remember guys, every cent counts, no matter how little, it might turn into something big and beautiful. I can't wait to get into the studio and record with a full band and I can't wait to share with you new songs you've never heard.

Music is the one thing in life that I´m sure I should be doing, and I love being able to share that part of myself with family, friends and even strangers that stumble across it.  It's a lot of money, so I love you all for even giving this a look in the first place.

Bláskjár is the alter ego of the musician, Dísa Hreiðarsdóttir. The project consists of recording and releasing her first solo album and a crowdfunding concert in Fríkirkjan in Reykjavík the 16th of May 2014.  The music is best described as lyrical folk music where story telling plays a big role.   Dísa has played drums and piano with various bands and artists through the years. such as Brúðarbandið, Elíza Newman, Elektra and Grúska Babúska.  Dísa graduated from the Iceland Academy of the arts in 2011 where she studied composition, specializing in music for theater. In 2012 she started her master studies at the same school where she focuses on music and will graduate in June 2014.
