About the author

HildurKristín is a 26-year-old artist in many fields.

She graduated from the high school Fjölbrautarskólinn í Garðabæ with drama as the main subject in 2014, after which she went to study performing arts at Länsi-Suomen opisto in Finland.

She completed her graduate degree in classical singing and music at The Reykjavík Academy of Singing and Vocal Arts in 2017 and then went to Paris the same year to study drama at Cours Florent.

This school year she has continued to study at The Reykjavík Academy of Singing and Vocal Arts and learned to play the double bass, which has been one of her biggest dreams since she was a little girl.

This fall she plans to go to London to study drama at Rose Bruford College.

Alongside all her studies, Hildur Kristín has already published one book of poetry, Hugljúfar minningar, in 2017.

She has also written several stage plays and more short stories and works as a translator.

HildurKristín has been directing a performance called Peace Poetry, which was first given on Friday 21st September 2018, on the International Day of Peace. This work was written byEyrún Ósk Jónsdóttir, a poet and actress who also recited the poetry for this performance and brought her audience peace and love. The performance attracted much attention.

HildurKristín is now directing a project called Requiem, which is also written and performed by Eyrún Ósk Jónsdóttir.

About the project

Töfraloftbelgurinn is a collection of five short stories about an old woman, Málfríður, and the cat Prófessor who travel between places in a balloon.

On their way, they meet all sorts of magical creatures, experience a world no one has seen before, and have various adventures.

The stories are absurdist in style and Prófessor is the narrator of their journey.

Töfraloftbelgurinn is an illustrated children's book in Icelandic that brings the reader into the dream world, of whose inhabitants we may perhaps mention a troll, a tightrope dancer, and magical butterflies.

The final version is a book of about 40 pages.

The intention is that the book will be published in August.
