After a long and drawn out recording process, our baby is finally ready to be born. Or almost. Though all recordings have been completed, the post production process still remains.
The album bears the title "Beyond The Night Sky" and is a thematic album. So far we have released a single version of one track, "Andvaka", and aim to release another one in the near future.
We now aim to raise funds in order to be able to complete the mixing and mastering processes, teaming up with experienced professionals for the best possible outcome.
Where do you come in? Here and now you can help us with our ambitious project and at the same time ensure your copy of the album, ticket to release concert or even a Ring of Gyges T-shirt!
A fairly limited amount of physical CD copies will be available, but the album will be for sale in most major online stores. A release date, along with a date for the release concert will be announced as soon as they can be confirmed. Any pre-ordered ticket to release concert can be refunded after a date has been announced.
The artwork was done by the incredibly talented Sushant Vohra @ Vohrart Designs.
Here is a little more insight on what to expect, including short clips from the rough mixes of all of the songs on the album.
The majority of the album was recorded over the course of two months late last year and was recorded at Stúdíó Sýrland, Stúdíó Brautarholt and Sundlaugin Studio. It features performances from many great guest musicians, and below you can see Andri Ívarsson's amazing guest solo in one of the featured songs, "Dawn"!
Earlier material can be found @ Bandcamp.
About the band:
"Although Ring of Gyges are heavily inspired by the progressive rock bands of the 70’s, their sound is much more metal- oriented and draws influences from progressive bands of the modern age. They strive to create epic and grandiose music with unconventional song structures and vast soundscapes, often accompanied by philosophical lyrics."
