A quarterly English-language magazine featuring the many facets of Icelandic design.
A journalist wants to capture the aspects of Icelandic design in a quarterly English-language magazine. Help her create and document the Icelandic design scene, including product design, graphic design, interiors, music, knitting, crafts, textiles, woodworking, jewelry, textiles and architecture.
The premise of the project is to feature all facets of Icelandic design in a high-quality, quarterly English-language magazine. The magazine is intended for design aficionados that enjoy the unique aesthetic of Icelandic design. Iceland actively promotes its design scene through marketing initiatives, but there lacks an independent, objective publication about local design in English. It will be local, informative and perhaps most importantly, fun.
The quarterly English language magazine will feature news, features, Q&As and high-quality photography. Furthermore, the content will be Iceland inspired, and Iceland produced by a local printing company in Iceland.
Contributors will receive copies of the magazine 3 months after funding closes. The time will allow for content creation, photography, and printing. Sponsors from Karolina Fund will have a chance to make this dream a reality!
The following types of Icelandic design will be covered in the magazine:
Product Design, Interiors, Graphic Design, Architecture, Fashion, Knitting/Crochet, Sewing/Embroidery, Jewelry Design, Culinary Arts, Furniture Design, Public Art, Books, Letterpress/Block printing, Accessories Design, Yarnbombing, Digital Design, Terrariums/Indoor Gardening, Woodworking, Baking, Music, Street Art, Metalwork, Photography, Ceramics, Glass, and more!
